Reposting Episode 1 of My 6-Month Transformation: Lessons Learned
If you’ve been following my six-month total life transformation journey, you may have noticed that I had to repost Episode 1 on YouTube. Yep, the very first video documenting this major life change had to be uploaded again. Here’s what happened and what I learned from the experience.
The YouTube Glitch (Or Mystery?)
I originally posted Episode 1 on March 19, excited to kick off this journey and share my progress with the world. But then… something weird happened. YouTube was barely pushing the video out, and when I checked Restricted Mode, it had completely disappeared.
Now, let me be clear—there was no explicit content. I even specified that when uploading the video. But no matter what I did, I couldn’t figure out how to make it visible to everyone. After some (frustrating) attempts to troubleshoot, I realized that I had two choices:
- Spend hours Googling, reading through endless forum threads, and trying to fix something I didn’t fully understand.
- Simply **repost the video** and move on.
I chose option 2—because my time and energy are better spent actually creating content rather than battling the YouTube algorithm.
The Silver Lining: A Chance to Improve
Since I had to repost the video anyway, I took the opportunity to make a few upgrades:
- Refreshed the intro to make it more engaging.
- Updated the chapter cards for a cleaner, more polished look.
- Refined the overall flow to make the episode feel smoother.
Of course, my sister had to roast me for one particular choice. I told her I love typography, and she immediately pointed out that I used the most "basic, childish font".
Rude! 😂 But hey, at least I got a second chance to tweak it.
In addition to growing personally through this challenge, my goal is to grow my audience as well, and connect with like-minded individuals who also desire to grow and develop themselves. Now that my video is searchable, I am so much closer to my goal. Currently, I have 52 subscribers. I'm curious to see how much my channel will change over the next 6 months.
Watch (or Rewatch) the Video!
If you missed Episode 1 the first time or want to see the upgraded version, check out the video embedded above. Let me know your thoughts!
UPDATE (5.31.25 5:42AM): Youtube chose the most unflattering 10 seconds as the hover premier of this video. It's literally me showing wings I ate with avocado on a paper plate. I put it there as a quick cameo, never thought it would be front and center. Does Youtube hate me??? 😭 There were so many amazing moments of this 39 minute video but Youtube chose that. Lesson learned - don't put anything you wouldn't want plastered as the premier in your video.
